Congratulations to one of my favorite families on their newest addition! It was so nice to see you all. I love watching your family grow and it was so much fun to see G as a big sister. One of the joys of being a newborn photographer and a family photographer is getting to be a part of the beginnings and following along with all of these families. It’s a lot of fun. When G was a newborn we did her session in a very simple and sweet way with florals. We went ahead and did baby C’s session in the same way. I love that their sessions were the same but different. Baby G’s newborn session was in October so we included pumpkins. Baby C’s being in August, we replaced the pumpkins with sunflowers. We did add some more layers as well just to show the growth of everyone. Not just the growth of this family but also my growth as well. But I love that the girls will have newborn pictures with similarities. We also did the family pictures with a gray background for both girls.

Another thing that I love to do when we take a feeding break for baby, is take a few minutes to document the older sibling. I think they love having some extra individual attention. G is so cute and as usual has so much personality.

And because safety is so, so important, when toddlers are involved we will typically get baby all by themselves in a prop. Then we’ll get pictures of the older sibling with the same prop without baby in it. They are composited together later in photoshop. Big sister here was actually tucking in her toys and it was so cute.

Last but not least, here is the sweet little peanut all by herself. I was seriously impressed with her being awake until nearly the end. But I do love awake pictures of newborns so I’m all for it.
