There’s something special about maternity photography. Knowing there’s a whole new person inside there that I’ll probably get to meet and photograph. Then they’ll come in again when they’re a little bigger, and again. Time passes between sessions and each one is like meeting a whole new person all over again. Except at the maternity session that’s actually true. It’s exciting to see how big they’ll be and what they’ll look like. It’s fun to watch them grow and start having interests and to see their personalities. When a maternity session is booked I am excited with the parents. It’s such a special thing.

This was recent and beautiful maternity session. Isn’t she gorgeous? She had a perfect baby bump. I was very surprised when she told me she was days from delivering. I’m so glad they were able to make it in just in time.

These parents were so relaxed and easy to work with. I really enjoyed having them in. I really love that they coordinated their outfits too.

It’s best to book your maternity photography session for around 32-36 weeks. If you plan to have a newborn session, the end of the 2nd trimester is a good time to get that on my calendar. Book your newborn session for about a week after the due date and we’ll adjust the session date after birth if needed. If the hospital you’re delivering at allows photographers in, definitely check in with me for availability for Fresh 48 pictures while in the hospital. These are such a great keepsake.
