We’re back with a beautiful 9th grader today! She came in with her mom for school yearbook pictures. This has been quite a year for students.

When I received the e-mail that we’d be doing our own yearbook pictures for my 9th grader, I expected to see some other local students in the studio. While not all school e-mails are that exciting to receive, I found myself a little giddy with this one. If you have a student in school this year you know the tug of war that’s been happening in e-mails and constant changes. It been rough on everyone. Including school staff I’m sure. So it was absolutely an e-mail that made me yell out “now that I can do”. Don’t get me wrong, even I usually buy a print of their traditional school pictures. It’s a keepsake and it’s sad they won’t have that this year.

I just hope that “S” here enjoyed her experience in studio with me and it made that a little less sad. It was another thing they had to miss out on, right along with a first day, first homecoming, games, clubs, sports, extracurriculars in school, new friends, etc. I was so glad her mom brought her in to lighten all of that with something just for her.

This session was short and easy at just 10 minutes and “S” did great! She was fun to photograph. It was nice to have her in for a visit.
